Version 1.0 - April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SecBox (operated by SecBox S.r.l., reachable at [email protected]) uses cookies and similar technologies on secbox.net.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They allow the site to remember your preferences, analyze how visitors use the site, and deliver a consistent experience across sessions.
Cookies can be:
- First-party - set directly by secbox.net
- Third-party - set by external services embedded on the site (e.g. analytics providers)
- Session cookies - deleted when you close the browser
- Persistent cookies - stored for a defined period
2. Cookies Used on secbox.net
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function. They do not require your consent and cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
secbox-cookie-consent | Stores your cookie preference selection (localStorage) | 12 months |
Analytics Cookies
These cookies are set only after you give explicit consent. They help us understand how visitors interact with the site in aggregate. No personal profile is built; IP addresses are anonymized.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |

_ga | Google Analytics 4 - assigns a unique identifier to distinguish users | 2 years |
_ga_[ID] | Google Analytics 4 - maintains session state for the current measurement ID | 2 years |
Analytics cookies are provided by Google LLC under a Data Processing Agreement. Data may be transferred to the USA under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF).
Chat Assistant Cookies
The EVA chat widget is served from a SecBox self-hosted Chatwoot instance in the European Union. Assistant replies are generated by MiniMax (HAILUO AI, Singapore). The widget loads only after you grant explicit consent to the "Chat assistant" category.

|---|---|---|
cw_user_in_{websiteToken} | Maintains conversation continuity across visits from the same user | 1 year |
cw_conversation | Session identifier for the ongoing conversation | Session |
Data you exchange in the chat (name, email, messages) is stored on the Chatwoot instance in the EU for commercial follow-up. For the full sub-processor list involved in the chat flow (self-hosted Chatwoot, MiniMax), see the Sub-Processors page.
3. Managing Your Preferences
Via the consent panel - you can change or withdraw your consent for analytics cookies and the chat widget at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer. Your selection takes effect immediately and is saved for 12 months.
Via browser settings - all major browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their settings menu. Blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality. Useful links:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data

Blocking or deleting the secbox-cookie-consent cookie will reset your preferences and the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.
